routines can be fun i promise

after quitting my second job and freeing up some personal time,
i've gone back to commuting to work on my bike. things are starting to slow down again. there are a lot of tourists visiting my town for spring training season and I suddenly feel this foreign urge to do things ... outside.
i've discovered something called "routine".
i say "discovered" like this all came naturally and i didnt sit down with a physical calendar, a sharpie, and a plan.
every thursday i ride to the local barcade after work to play pump it up until my legs give out. they host a drawing club there too. its weird - learning how to talk to strangers. i kindof like it.
every once in a while i like to cut back on my coffee intake. last go around i got really into ceremonial matcha. this time ive decided to drink tea on tuesdays and thursdays. my favorites have been earl grey and english breakfast, both with a splash of cream, but if i had oolong on hand it would easily be a top contender. ive found that ive been drinking tea even on my coffee days.
i have sunday and monday off of work. sundays are for chores. dishes, laundry, tidying the house, dusting sweeping and airing everything out. yknow.
i have poor proprioception. im clumsy and i walk funny. lately ive been wondering if its something i can improve through practice and meditation. ive decided to dedicate my monday evenings to tai chi. theres a local taoist chapter that ive heard good things about - all thats left is to work up the nerve to show up and ask to join. tai chi is something rarely practiced by people my age so im curious to see where this might lead!
aside from recurring events, ive been keeping an eye out for events via our local independent newspaper publisher and my job's bulletin board. theres a lot going on in my neck of the woods and im really thankful to have access to interesting events within biking distance :)
oh. i also hang out with friends every once in a while. im working on it.
